Best Mum Brunch with I Just Love It and Historic Newspapers

Last week I went on a little Mummy adventure to London. I had been invited to attend the Best Mum Brunch with the wonderful teams at I Just Love It and Historic Newspapers. I was one of several bloggers invited and we were all Mumma's there to celebrate all things Mum with an early Mother's Day treat.

I travelled by train from Milton Keynes and met the lovely Amy from The Smallest Of Things en route to help with baby Lillie in her pram as I knew prams and trains can be a bit of a struggle (I left my two monkeys at home!). All hands on deck though and surprisingly it was an easy journey. Amy and I nattered the whole way to London and despite only standing room on the packed train we had a great trip down.

The event was held at the gorgeous Percy and Founders in Fitztrovia, London. Tucked away in a quiet street just off Tottenham Court Road, this modern yet classic restaurant was the perfect backdrop for our brunch and the food was outstanding. I will definitely be going back for food next time I am in London.

Amy and I were so busy gassing that we actually missed the road we needed once in London and had to loop back on ourselves but it was all good fun and we made the event in time. So we arrived at Percy and Founders, were lead downstairs into this beautiful private dining area and were greeted by smiling faces of fellow bloggers and the super friendly event organisers.

We were asked to find our initials around the table and I spotted mine after a few seconds and a gentle reminder to myself that I am now JM and have been for 7 months now! Our initials were on monogrammed plates and as we settled in I noticed more personalised treats were surrounding them. There was a delicate personalised vintage spoon, a butter knife that said "Spread Love", a glass that was engraved with a special Mother's Day message and the coolest thing of all, a Birthday Newspaper from the day I was born from Historic Newspapers. I was in awe at all these pretty things and best of all they were just for me!

Once everyone arrived we were welcomed and then left to enjoy an array of delicious brunch dishes while talking about life as Mums who blog. It was really good fun and I already knew a few people but met some more ladies I had only spoken to online before. These women whose lives I follow every day on social media and whose families I feel I have met before. Most of them had tiny babies with them which made me wish I had taken Callie but I got to cuddle and play then hand them back when they needed changing which was a welcomed break for me. The two hours went so fast in a whirl of chit chat, tea, avocado on toast, ham and cheese toasties and the best granola I have EVER eaten!

When the event was over it took a good half an hour to leave the venue with all the prams in tow and stopping every few minutes to continue conversations. The staff were so friendly as were the two PR ladies from the brands. We were having such a good time that a few of us headed over to Primark for a shop, more talking and a few coffees to while away the afternoon before heading home.

Myself, Amy, Hannah from Budding Smiles, Lesley from Messy Blog and Lucie from Lucie Loves It had such a giggle in the Primark cafe. I honestly feel like my blog friends are some of the best friends I have and despite only having met Hannah before that day I felt so comfortable with them like we had known each other for years!

Overall it was one of the best brand events I have been to and I owe a big thank you to the brands for inviting me and allowing me some much needed Mummy Time, it was really special.

I left the event with a goody bag full of more treats including this stunning initialled bracelet. The full list can be found on the I Just Love It post along with more details and photo's from the day. I highly recommend checking them out if you want something truly special for the Mother in your life.
