My 5 Valentines Pampering Essentials

Valentines day is almost here and I want to share with you my top 5 pampering essentials for getting yourself looking hot to trot for date night!

1. Face the Music...

If you are going to look your best for your special person, regardless of if you are wearing makeup or going au naturale you want to be your most natural beautiful self. Which means buffing away any dead skin, deep cleansing and removing any unwanted facial hair.

The Braun Face is the ultimate in female grooming. The worlds first facial epilator and cleansing brush is sure to make your skin glow!

I have never used an epilator on my face before and I have to admit I probably won't again...I have a low pain threshold and don't even pluck my eyebrows (I am that much of a wuss!). However, the cleansing brush is brilliant! I use it most nights before bed to remove my makeup alongside my favourite facial wash.

The brush that comes with the tool is quite a nice texture but I also got a pack of extra brushes which included a sensitive skin brush (in pink) which I prefer to use as it is more gentle. There is also an exfoliating brush which is a bit rougher and I use perhaps once a week to just make sure I am getting rid of any nasty dead skin and getting deep into my pores.

The cleanser is supposed to be 6 times more effective than manual cleaning, it has been tested by dermatologists and the epilator claims to leave you hair free for up to 4 weeks!
I love the rose gold lid and storage bag and it even comes with a led mirror so that you can see what you are doing in dimly lit rooms.

Perfect start for a pampering session and if any men are reading this it would make a great gift too.

2. De-fuzz

If you girls are anything like me, your legs will be resembling that of a small chimpanzee by now. Winter takes its toll and shaving my legs is always saved for special occasions. Valentines is one of them! So my favourite thing to do before a date night is to run myself a lovely bubble bath, relax watching some YouTube videos and have a good old de-fuzz.

My favourite razors to use are the Gillette Venus for women. They are kind to my skin, give a close shave and leave my legs silky smooth. So I was very excited when I saw the new Venus Snap compact razor which is ideal for travel. My plan is to pop this in my weekender bag, complete with its little blue case making it easier not to slice my hands off while rummaging around for it!

Another nifty find which I actually think will come in really handy!

3. Try something new...

This one is for those of you that are a bit stuck in a rut with your makeup and want to try something different but don't have a huge budget to overhaul your collection. I recently came across Freedom makeup while watching GlamBeauty's Liza doing a Drug Store Makeup Get Ready with Me. They are really reasonably priced and by reasonable I mean CHEAP! They are surprisingly really good products though and I decided to pick up two eyeshadow palettes, two lipsticks and an eyebrow palette. All 5 came to just £12 which was a steal!

Anyway...with my new makeup I decided for Valentines I would try out something similar Liza's look with some of the colours I picked up as the pinks are really romantic!

So my tip to you is to have a little mooch around online and try something different. Perhaps pick up some colours you don't use very often and have a play around, you might find something you really like as I did!

4. Brush Up!

I was recently sent some brushes from Savisto to try out and I am really impressed! I usually get my makeup brushes from Primark as they are cheap but although they are reasonable for the price they aren't the best brushes. The Savisto 11 brush Kabuki set is only £7.99 but I was pleasantly surprised at the quality.

The set has a brush for everything and the bristles are super soft. The design is a little like the Ecotools range with the bamboo handles and they look really professional.

I never appreciated how important good brushes are when applying makeup but my foundation looks immaculate when applied with the large stippling brush and the eyeshadow brushes mean I can create sleek lines or blend colours together perfectly.

I highly recommend picking up some good brushes to create your Valentines look and why not drop some hints for some as a present too ;)

5. Curls, Curls, Curls!

Pampering essential number 5 is great hair products!

The curls are coming out for date night but do I go for loose beachy waves or super glam barrel curls? I actually like both styles equally and have two new products to use to perfect my curls.

The Vo5 Give Me Texture spray is perfect for that wavy boho look. With sea salt to add lots of texture and definition I can pretend to be a mermaid for the night!

The second product is the Schwarzkopf Gliss Shine Tonic which I picked up in Wilko for just £1.65 the other day. It makes your hair so shiny and shows off those sleek barrel curls beautifully.

However you decide to pamper yourself this Valentines, whether you are off out or enjoying a nice night in I hope you enjoy it!

*Some of these products were sent to me for review but all opinions are my own.
