Why Do I Write? - Blog Hop

I was tagged in a little blog hop this week by a new blogger friend of mine called Lisa from Twins, Tiara's and Tantrums. We got talking when I discovered she lives literally 10 minutes down the road from me...small world!
This blog hop is called Why Do I Write and was started to let our readers know a bit more about us as writers and why we do what we do.

So here we go, first question...

1. Why do I write?

Can I say because I love it?

When I first started Late For Reality it was a bit of fun, I knew a couple of other people that had their own blogs and just saw it as a little diary to share my life with the world. An extension of social media statuses if you like. But as I got in to it I realised I had a true passion for writing and I was able to share my thoughts on all sorts of things. Then, when I discovered I was pregnant, I realised I could use blogging as a way to document my pregnancy, our family life and my thoughts as a Mother.
2. What am I working on?

I am currently planning a Midlands meet up for local bloggers called Big Night Out. In my 'Real Life' job I am a training course co-ordinator but planning a blogging event is a whole other ball game! I am really enjoying it and it is set to be a great night.

Another area I am discovering is the world of Youtube and hope to be doing much more vlogging in the coming months.

I am going to be attending lots of events such as The Good Food Show, The Baby Show and BlogCamp (by Tots100) where I hope to meet lots of amazing people, learn more about writing and photography to improve my blog content.
3. How does my blog differ from others of its genre?

I am not too sure which genre my blog falls in to. This is something I have been battling with for a while now. I class it as 'Parenting and Lifestyle' but I don't tend to do the whole weekly/monthly development updates most #pbloggers (parent bloggers) do about their child. Mine are perhaps more as and when posts when I want to share something we are particularly proud of or perhaps concerned about.

I blog about days out and holidays but I'm not a travel blogger. I write about food and recipe's but am not a food blogger. Sometimes I even venture in to beauty and fashion but #bblogger or #fblogger don't seem right for me either.

Perhaps I am a whatever feels right at the time blogger - #WFRATTBlogger
4. How does my writing process work?
Mostly I am prompted by things we get up to in our daily lives. If I cook something I think people will like I will write the recipe up. If I visit somewhere I think my readers might want to hear about I blog about it and if we get approached by a brand with a great product review I will share our honest opinion of the product.

I guess as far as the writing side of it goes I literally let my fingers type what I am thinking. Sometimes it is utter rubbish but that is how I am in daily life so feel my readers have a right to know the real me.

I rarely edit things out other than spelling mistakes (I suck at apostrophe's), nothing I say is very offensive because I am not an offensive person, so not much need for editing. The only boundaries I do have are mentioning friends and family on the blog. I always check with people before sharing pictures of them or including them in posts because I think it is courteous to.

Just because I am happy for my life to be on the wibbly wobbly world wide web doesn't mean I have a right to share anyone elses. The same with Ted, if he comes to me in a few years time and says 'Mum, I don't want you to write about me anymore.' I will take down all of my posts/photo's and respect his wishes.

I know a lot of bloggers that think it is acceptable to say whatever they like as if it is their God given right as a blogger, no matter who it may hurt. That isn't me in real life so it will not be me on the trolls here!

I hope these questions have given you a small insight into my life behind Late For Reality and you know a bit more about Jade the writer as much as you do Jade the Mum.

I tag Lucy from Mrs Bishops Bakes and Banter, Amy from In My Bubble and Deborah from Super Busy Mum posts to go live on 22nd September so make sure you pop over to learn more about why they write!
