Homemade Tinted Lip balm
Petroleum Jelly
Lipstick
Food Flavouring - Mint, Strawberry or Vanilla work well.
Bowl, Spoon and Knife (I used a disposable bowl and cutlery so I could throw it away after)
Small pot with lid
Take your petroleum jelly and place a small amount in your bowl, about a heaped tablespoon should fit a small pot.
Cut a centimeter long piece of your lipstick and pop that in the bowl too.
If you like you can add a drop of your favourite flavouring, I decided to leave mine plain.
Mix together and spoon into your pot (I used an old Sudocrem pot that had been washed out and the stickers removed but any little pot or jar would work).
Pop in the fridge to reset and it will be ready in a few hours.
* If you are making this for yourself you can use an old lipstick but to stop germs spreading it is best to buy a new one for gifts. Supermarkets often have nice colours for less than a pound.
I decorated my lipbalm pot with stickers and wrapped it in celophane and added a ribbon.
You can use these ingredients to make several lipbalms so it really is great value for money and every time you use it you will be proud you have made it yourself. This is also a great way to make your favourite lipstick go further!
This is such an amazing idea!!!!!! x
